Studio One Dance Theatre received a $50K grant from the Chicago Teachers Union Foundation to award scholarships to underserved students. The scholarships provided training for promising beginning students and secondary dance education for high school graduates. The secondary scholarship served as a bridge for students attending college and pre-professional programs
With funding from the Chicago Teachers Union Foundation, fifty underserved students were afforded the opportunity to experience a year of intensive dance and theater training at Studio One Dance Theatre. The Studio One Dance Theatre also represents seven college students in dance programs from Columbia College Chicago and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy
Finally, the most far-reaching impact of the Chicago Teachers Union Foundation: our funding helped Studio One Dance Theatre serve 3,000 additional students and community members through community outreach and programming. We thank you Studio One Dance Theatre!
