Q: Does my organization need a 501(c)(3) status?
A: Yes, in order to be eligible for funding, your organization must have its 501 (c)(3) status at the time of submission.
Q: Do you fund research?

- Does my organization have to be based in the city of Chicago?
A: No, but your organization’s proposed program must serve Chicago residents and currently operating in three or more states during the time of the grant proposal submission.
- Do you fund individuals and/or public school teachers?
A: No, Chicago Teachers Union Foundation does not fund individuals.
Q: Can I ask over the amount of funding based on the proposed program needs?
A: No, you must request the amount of funding within the range listed on the application. If you are a first-time applicant, your request amount is limited to $25,000 for your initial application. Click here for grant making guidelines.
Q: Do you accept applications after the deadline?
A: No, for full consideration, all grant applications must be submitted by deadline date with required attachments.
