Quest Center Partnership with Roosevelt University
ESL/Bilingual Endorsement Cohort
In response to high demand, the Chicago Teachers Union Foundation Quest Center and Roosevelt University are partnering to recruit teachers to join a new Spring cohort working toward the ESL/Bilingual endorsement.
The 6-course sequence consists of one online and one face-to-face course each semester:
- Spring 2017 | March – May | READ 473 & READ 474
- Summer 2017 | May – Aug. | READ 458 & READ 476
- Fall 2017 | Aug. – Dec. | READ 468 & READ 475
The first online course starts on March 20, 2017.
F2F classes will meet five times per semester, on Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. In Spring 2017, the dates are April 1, 8, 15, 29, and May 20.
F2F courses will meet at the new CTUF headquarters at 1901 West Carroll. Parking is free.
Cohort students pay only $1080 for each course – this is only $360 per credit hour!
NOTE: The Illinois State Board of Education requires 100 clinical hours in bilingual or ESL settings.
CPS teachers who enroll in this special program will be taught by a Roosevelt University faculty member and CTUF Professional Development Facilitator Theresa Insalaco-DeCicco, NBCT. All cohort teachers will be required to complete 100 clinical hours in accordance with Illinois endorsement requirements; teachers seeking the bilingual endorsement will need to pass a language proficiency exam.
