We’re offering free books to Chicago’s teachers, students, support staff and librarians!
Publishers sometimes find themselves storing excess copies of books. Rather than recycling them, we’re making them available for free to Chicago educators! We’ve got over 150 titles and over 20,000 progressive, labor, picture books, poetry and education-related titles available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some books will be available in quantities for classroom sets.
There will be books for elementary, middle, high school grades, as well as books for college students, educators, and librarians. Haymarket’s catalog specializes in accessible, engaging texts about education, labor, women’s and LGBTQ movements, and civil rights, as well as poetry titles. Other publishers have also contributed overstocked books that are suitable for students and teachers.
Bring your own bags or boxes!
All of the books are being offered for free, but we will also be accepting tax-deductible donations onsite via cash or credit card
Special offer for people who attend the giveaway:
