Back To School Blood Drive 2026
BACK TO SCHOOL BLOOD DRIVE
FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2026
The CTU Foundation is proud to bring our community together for a blood drive that reflects one of our core values: investing in the health, well-being, and future of our communities.
Access to a safe and reliable blood supply is essential to patient care, and diverse blood donors are critical to making that possible. For patients living with conditions such as Sickle Cell Disease, closely matched blood can be especially important. Because these conditions disproportionately affect people of African descent, donations from Black and other diverse communities can help ensure patients receive the blood they need.
Right now, the need is even greater. The nation is experiencing only the second blood crisis in American Red Cross history, with donations struggling to keep pace with demand from hospitals.
As the CTU Foundation, we believe caring for our community means showing up for one another. Every donation is an act of solidarity that can give someone more time, more hope, and another chance at life.
If you are eligible, we encourage you to roll up your sleeve and give.
Patients need you now. Together, we can give more hope, love, and life.
The American Red Cross hosts a safe, friendly, and healthy blood drive at the CTU Center, 1901 W. Carroll Ave. Sign up now to reserve your time slot to donate blood between 2 pm and 6 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026.
Your O+ blood is especially needed right now to support a national blood crisis, only the second in American Red Cross history, and ensure patient care isn’t delayed. Despite thousands of donors like you stepping up to help over the past few weeks, donations are still not keeping pace with hospital demand, and the situation has escalated. Extreme heat, poor air quality and widespread foodborne illnesses are contributing to lower donor turnout this summer, making your next blood donation even more crucial.
Patients need you now — will you give more hope, love and life with Power Red?
The American Red Cross Blood Drive, 2 – 6 PM
Eligibility: If you are at least 17 years old, 16 years old with a signed Red Cross parental/guardian consent form where state permits, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in good health, you may be eligible to give blood. High school students and other donors 18 years old and younger must also meet other height and weight requirements.
