Graduate Courses, Certificates, and Endorsements
CTUF/NLU Endorsement Programs
Chicago Teachers Union Foundation and National Louis University proudly offer licensed teachers in-demand endorsements and programs from NLU’s National College of Education. We’d like to specifically highlight our Special Education (Learning Behavior Specialist LBS1) and Early Childhood Subsequent Endorsement (for those interested in teaching birth-grade 2) opportunities!
Special Education Learning Behavior Specialist Endorsement (LBS1)
The LBS1 Endorsement program at NLU is designed for teachers looking to add a specialized endorsement to their teaching license. This LBS1 Endorsement program gives you the knowledge and skills to work in inclusive classrooms and school settings, with the ability to use Universal Design for Learning strategies to effectively reach all students.
Early Childhood Subsequent Teaching Endorsement
The Early Childhood Subsequent Teaching Endorsement program is designed for those looking to expand their career options to teach children from birth to grade 2. A transcript evaluation will be conducted to determine the number of hours needed to fulfill the state requirements. An Enrollment Specialist will assist you with the process.
Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist Endorsement/Degree
This coursework is designed for teachers interested in enhancing their skills within the areas of literacy, development, and instruction. Educators can choose between two tracks: Reading Teacher or Reading Specialist. Either track can be applied toward the M.Ed. in Reading.
Did you know that NLU also offers a degree in which students have the opportunity to combine multiple endorsements into a full Master’s? Contact William Vavrin at wvavrin@nl.edu or call 312-261-3297 for more details about any of the above programs!
