Student Special Assistance Fund

The Children & Teachers Foundation of the CTU supports Chicago’s students, educators, and school communities through charitable activities, scholarships, grants, and professional learning.
For more than 50 years, the Student Special Assistance Fund (SSAF) has helped address the immediate needs of students attending Chicago Public Schools. More than 70 percent of CPS students come from low-income families, and tens of thousands of CPS students experience homelessness each year.
The SSAF is available year-round to students from low-income families. CTU delegates can identify students in need and apply for assistance on their behalf. Support can help cover essential needs such as eyeglasses, hearing aids, school and activity fees, clothing, and emergency assistance.
Your charitable donation today helps ensure that the Children & Teachers Foundation can continue to respond when students and families need support most, and help make sure every student has the resources they need to learn, participate, and succeed.
Give today and help us meet the needs of Chicago’s students.
