2025 Young Artist Contest
The Young Artist Contest is open to all students in kindergarten through 12th grade attending the Chicago Public and Charter Schools. Its purpose is to showcase student talent, recognize students, parents, and teachers and to display prize-winning creations in the Chicago Teachers Union office.

- One entry per school
- Flat drawings, prints, paintings, or sculptures that reflect original ideas will be accepted.
- All entries must be original student. No copies accepted.
- Artwork must be matted/mounted and protected with cover flap except for sculpted The maximum size (excluding the mat) is 24″ x 30.”
- Any medium may be used, including original and computer-generated work. Pieces may be in either black and white or color; but charcoal, pastels, chalk, or crayon works must be sprayed with fixative to prevent smearing. No framed work or canvas on stretchers allowed.
- There is no theme; the quality of the art is the only criterion for judging.
- Any student attending a Chicago public school is eligible to enter.
Winners will receive:
- A gift card
- A certificate from CTU
- Invitation with one guest to a reception at the CTU Office
- Invitation for a teacher or the art teacher to attend reception
- Artwork will be displayed in the CTU office for one year
- Winners give the CTU the right to reproduce their winning artwork
- Artwork will be published on the CTU and CTUF Websites
- A letter will be sent out to the school for the artwork to be picked up before the end of school If it is not picked up within 60 days after the letter is sent to the school, artwork becomes the property of the CTU.
