April 7 Furlough Day Professional Development

The CTUF Quest Center offers the first 70 registrants FREE professional development at the Chicago Teachers Union Center from 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM, where you can earn 3.5 ISBE PD Hours at no cost to you.

Choose between two classes, CPS Framework for Teaching Domain Colloquium or Developing Minds: The 8 Neurodevelopmental Constructs.

**To attend this PD, you must participate in the April 7 action at River Point Tower Plaza, where you will receive an admission ticket from a CTU organizer.**

CPS Framework for Teaching Domain Colloquium

The CPS Framework for Teaching Domain Colloquium offers CPS teachers the opportunity to learn more about each of the Domains through discussion, analysis, and collaboration with their colleagues. Theresa Insalaco-DeCicco will guide participants through the process of ‘breaking down’ each Domain and determining what is considered ‘Distinguished level’ practice by evaluators during the observation cycle.

Developing Minds: The 8 Neurodevelopmental Constructs

This professional development session addresses the eight neurodevelopmental constructs (attention, memory, language, neuromotor function, social cognition, temporal-sequential ordering, spatial ordering, and higher order cognition). This session analyzes these brain-mind processes to highlight tools and strategies teachers can use to apply brain-based learning theory to differentiate their instruction and increase student engagement.
