CPS Framework for Teaching Study Groups – Domain 3
Domain 3: This professional development activity focuses on the Chicago Public Schools’ Framework for Teaching (FFT) Domain 3 with Critical Attributes (CPS’ REACH teacher/licensee evaluation system). Participants analyze the criteria for each component and element; and determine strategies, techniques, and practices aligned to the “Distinguished” (highest) level rating. The session includes group collaboration to analyze the FFT and determine aligned “Best Practices”. Teachers also collaborate to plan rigorous instruction according to the FFT Criteria (implementing differentiation, delivering lessons according to student needs, strengths, challenges, and developmental level). This PD activity provides materials/resources relevant for mastery of the CPS Framework for Teaching Component 4d (growing and developing professionally that can be added to teachers’ professional development binder. This PD teaches attendees how to demonstrate their knowledge of implementing instruction that is cohesive, rigorous, and aligned to the needs of students.
In order to receive credit, participants must attend each entire session. Please note that while you are welcome to stay, late arrivals and early departures cannot receive ISBE PD Hours.
