Make a difference this fall season and support Chicago Public School students in a very big way! Help us meet our $20,000 goal. All proceeds will go towards the Student Special Assistance and Scholarship Funds.
The Student Special Assistance Fund (SSAF) was created over 50 years ago to address the immediate needs of students who attend Chicago’s public schools (CPS). Nearly 75 percent of CPS students are from low-income families, and over 17,000 students attending CPS are homeless. To help reduce the degradation brought on by a lack of necessities, CPS teachers identify students who require eyeglasses, hearing aids, and clothing and submit an application for resources on their behalf.
The Children and Teachers Foundation of the Chicago Teachers Union supports the Student Special Assistance and Scholarship funds to help meet the basic needs of CPS students. Contributions to the SSAF allows CTUF to increase the number of applications per school, serving more students in need. The SSAF application process is officially open for the 2019-2020 school year.
Download the application at www.ctuf.org/ssaf. The deadline for submission is March 30, 2020.
