Giving Tuesday 2022
As we plan our annual Giving Campaign during this season, we are coming to you for ways to support. We are coming to you to support our goal of targeting families that are in dire need due to hardship and sickness who may be in need of meals, toys, and coats during this holiday season.
Your donations matter more than ever!
On September 20, 2022, over 30 families in the Austin Community were displaced by a natural gas explosion. Of the 30 families, 11 families have children who are currently registered in CPS schools. While the community has responded with many resources, there is still an overwhelming to need to be addressed. All of the families have been placed in temporary/permanent housing, but their basic necessities need to be replaced. The Children and Teachers Foundation (CTF) is seeking your help to restore as much as possible.
The CTF is working closely with Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson’s Office to offer the 11 families (26 CPS students) financial assistance for uniforms and other school needs through our partnership with Zemsky’s, The Uniform Store.
We are reaching out to you, the CTU members, friends and family to give to these families experiencing a devastating loss at the start of the holiday season. Your donation allows the CTF to purchase coats, toys, shoes, groceries and other items to these families and other families across the city. We can spread holiday cheer to all with your tax-deductible donation.
Please donate this GIVING TUESDAY, November 29, 2022, to December 15, 2022, by completing the form below. You can also contribute by mailing a check payable to the Children and Teachers Foundation of the Chicago Teachers Union to our address: 1901 W. Carroll Ave., Chicago, IL 60612.
