Family and Community Involvement
This professional development offering, for currently practicing K – 12th grade teachers, examines the framework for 6 Types of Family/Community Involvement (Parenting, Communicating, Volunteering, Learning at Home, Decision-Making, and Collaborating) and how to utilize it in their practice. Attendees will learn how and why to involve family members (and guardians and caregivers) as partners with both school and home-based activities; strategies for 2-way communication with families to advance student learning; and, why and how to be responsive to families and their cultures and needs. This offering is aligned to the CPS Framework for Teaching Components 4c and 4d.

Parking: Free parking available
In order to receive credit, participants must attend each entire session. Please note that while you are welcome to stay, late arrivals and early departures cannot receive ISBE PD Hours.
The CTUF Quest Center reserves the right to cancel a course/workshop due to low enrollment. Refunds for participant cancellation will be issued up to one day before the course/workshop begins.
